We welcome guests with open arms in Matyóföld, the home of matyodesign, where we would like to present the mission of our social enterprise and the special workshop secrets of our sustainable fashion brand. Those arriving will be greeted by women dressed in Matyó folk costumes with freshly baked, fragrant scones and homemade pálinka, so that they can experience the hospitality of village life from the very first moment. During the program, guests can visit several different experience stations in a magically renovated, over 100-year-old farmhouse, where they will get a brief insight into the world of Matyó traditions. At one station, they can sit down to embroider with the Tardi Matyó women: here, anyone can try making traditional motifs for a few stitches, while the women kindly tell us about the origin and meaning of the patterns.
At another station, there is also the opportunity to try on traditional Matyó folk costumes. They can briefly slip into these beautiful, colorful, richly decorated dresses and experience what it feels like to wear the festive attire of the Matyó culture. The spectacular attire is also a great photo subject, so you can make a lasting memory of your visit.
At the gastronomic experience station, those interested can take a look at the small, yet extremely cozy process of making snail pasta. Guests can learn how to use the snail maker and, for a few movements, they can try out the shaping of the pasta themselves, as local women have been doing for generations.
At the end of the visit, there is also the opportunity to try out the modern, sustainable products of Matyodesign. Guests can experience how the traditional Matyó heritage meets the clean shapes of today's fashion. Each piece can be purchased on site with a 10% discount, so participants can take home a handmade, valuable souvenir from Matyóföld.
