Arrive in Tard, the heart of Matyó culture and home of matyodesign. Enjoy the tranquility and fresh country air as women dressed in traditional Matyó folk costumes welcome you with freshly baked pogácsa and pálinka. At the beginning of the program, we will outline our goals and our commitment to social responsibility. We will present how matyodesign operates as a social enterprise. Learn how we collaborate with rural communities, how we create value by reimagining traditional crafts, and how we provide a stable livelihood for local embroiderers. We believe that design is not only an aesthetic value but also a tool for preserving cultural heritage and strengthening communities.
You can choose from a variety of activities to make the most of your day. We’ve got team-building games lined up! How about a needle-threading contest or a lentil sorting challenge? After these fun competitions, you can meet the Matyó embroidery artists and learn about the art of embroidery, and create your very first Matyó rose using colors of your choice. You can bake Tardi pastries together with the local women, tearing out snail-shaped dough using tools that are up to 100 years old. We’ll also teach you a traditional folk song from Tard so that by the end of the day you’ll be able to sing along with our embroiderers.
Throughout the day, we’ll prepare a fresh two-course lunch. You can take a guided tour of Hungary’s oldest folk museum, and if you’re brave enough, you can even try on traditional folk costumes. To wrap up the program, you can visit the church in Tard, where Matyó frescoes and a 110-year-old organ await you.
The team-building session lasts approximately 4–5 hours and can be flexibly tailored to your needs
